Privacy
This is a personal blog. Volodymyr Pavlov runs it and is responsible for the personal data described here (the controller under the GDPR). Questions about this page can be sent through the contact page.
What This Site Collects
This site sets no cookies and collects nothing itself. Fonts and images are served from this site itself. Analytics runs only if you allow it, and the contact form and its spam check load only on the contact page; both are described below, as is the hosting.
Google Analytics
If you allow it in the consent bar, this site loads Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. Google
Analytics then sets cookies whose names start with _ga and sends Google your IP address, browser details, the pages you
open, and the page you came from. Google may process this data in the United States, under the
Google Privacy Policy. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Your choice, allow or decline, is kept in your browser's local storage so the bar does not ask again. You can withdraw consent at any time with the "Analytics choice" link in the footer: it deletes the analytics cookies and asks again.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. When you open a page, Cloudflare, Inc. receives your IP address and browser details and may keep them in server logs to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Cloudflare is based in the United States and processes this data under the Cloudflare Privacy Policy. The old address, volodymyr-pavlov.gitlab.io, only redirects here; GitLab Inc. handles those requests under the GitLab Privacy Statement. The legal basis is a legitimate interest in running a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Contact Form
If you send a message from the contact page, your name, email address and message go to Web3Forms, which emails them to me, under the Web3Forms Privacy Policy. I use them only to reply, and delete them once the conversation is over unless you ask me to keep them. The legal basis is a legitimate interest in answering you (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
To keep out spam, the contact page loads hCaptcha, which checks that a person is sending the message. hCaptcha receives your IP address, browser details and how you interact with the check, under the hCaptcha Privacy Policy. The legal basis is a legitimate interest in protecting the form from abuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
How Long Data Is Kept
- Google Analytics keeps visit data for 14 months, then deletes it.
- The
_gacookies expire after two years, or sooner if you delete them or withdraw consent. - Your consent choice stays in your browser's local storage until you clear it or use "Analytics choice".
- Messages are deleted once the conversation is over, as described above.
- Cloudflare keeps its server logs for as long as its privacy statement describes.
